2nd Annual Sportmen's Raffle Set for April 21st

The Lookout Fire Company #1 will be once again be holding our spring sportsman's raffle on Saturday April 21st. This years event will be held at the Weona Park Community Center from 1pm till 5pm. This years ticket consist of 25 different prizes, ranging from hunting blinds and fishing equipment to our grand prize of a Horton Crossbow! Tickets are currently on sale for $5.00 a piece or 5 tickets for $20.00. For more information contact Clem mellott or any other member of the company. Or stop by the fire station any Monday night between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. All proceeds benefit Lookout Fire Company #1

Community Christmas Food Drive to Take Place

TheLookout Fire Co. #1 and the Pen Argyl Salvation Army, have teamed up once again for our annual Christmas can food drive. This years drive will be held on the night of Monday  December 12th, starting at 7:00 p.m.  Along with can foods we will be also accepting non perishable food items. On the night of the drive, we ask that you please place your bag of items on your front porch with a porch light on. At 7pm members of the company will be driving around town in the fire trucks to pick up the items, so be on the lookout .Items may also be dropped off at the fire station that night before 7pm. LFC Present Annual Toy Bingo

The Lookout Fire Company #1 is proud to  announce our annual Family Toy Bingo on November 26th at 1:30pm at the Weona Park Youth Center. Doors will open at 12:30 and admission into the event is $10 for everyone who enters. Due to the number of seats available anyone who doesn't have a ticket will not be allowed into the event.  Admission includes a seat at the event and board for bingo, additional boards may be purchased at the event for a reduced rate. Tickets are limited and will be on sale now!! Or by picking them up in person Monday November 14th,  at the Fire Hall, 44 W.Bell Ave, Pen Argyl, Pa, from 6:30pm till 7:30pm. Prizes this year will include a grand prize of a XBOX 360 Kinect Bundle, along with with door prizes and many additional times . LABOR DAY PARADE IS STILL GOING ON TODAY!

The Lookout Fire Company Will still be holding our 76th annual Labor Day Parade Today as scheduled Rain or Shine. It Will be starting at 1Pm. Registration is going on right now and will be until 12pm!


 
Fire ravages Plainfield Township Structure

On August 2, 2011 the LFC #1 was dispatched around 06:30 to cover calls in the area as surrounding units worked at a commercial Structure fire at the Nicos Polymers building on Bangor road in Plainfield township. Shortly after dispatch 36 command had requested that 32 units procced into the scene and help establish water supply on the north end of the building. Engine 3211 along with 3251 responded to the scene and assisted in setting up and working a dump site to help supply water for multiple reason. As the incident progressed 36 command requested that engine 3212 respond to the area of 191 and Commerce way to set up for a fill site for the tender shuttle operation, being one of several fill sites. Throughout the days nemourses companies from multiple counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey answered the call for assistance with man-power, engines, and tenders. Around 1700 hours 36 commands released 32 units that were on location on bangor road, and releaved by departments from Dublin Fire and Hilltown Township units from Bucks County. Engine 3212 remained on scene unit 2330 hours filling tenders hundred of times. At 2345 engine 3211 and support 3242 recalled to the scene to continue in overhaul operations with the assistance of heavy equipment. At 0530 hours on August 3rd, all 32 units finally cleared the scene.

During the day Monroe County Station 37, Stroud Township, stood by at station 32 with Engine 37-5. Luckly they did not have to handle any calls in the coverage area.

Tatamy Parade 2011

On Saturday July 9th members from the Lookout Fire Co. #1 took part and participated in the Tatamy Vol. Fire Departments annual Firemen's Parade. Engine 3211, Utility 3242, and Special Services Support 3243 with several members made the trip to Tatamy for the Event. When the parade was complete members were able to enjoy the festivities of the food, drinks and sounds of the annual carnival on the fire company grounds. At 2130 hours, the officers and judges from Tatamy started the trophy presentation. The LFC #1 was award with  2nd Best Overall Appearing Fire Company! We at LFC #1 would like to thank the officers and members of Tatamy Fire Department for once again for having a great event and a great time.

STOP TEXTING !!!!

On Thursday May 26th the LFC #1 took part in The Lehigh Valley Health Network campaign to stop distracting driving caused by cell phone calls and texting while driving. The Cell Limit 0 campaign, as it has been come known as, is bring attention to a issue that is killing 6,000 Americans  annually in car crashes,  distracted driving, in which the use of cell phones is by far the greatest. In order to so local students at Pen Argyl Area High school Reagle Dodge of Bangor sponsored to have the presentation for the students. The day started with the students listening to Jacy Good and his story and presentation on what happen to those who text and drive but also others as well. Following the presentation members from Lookout Fire Co. #1, Pen Argyl Police Department, Suburban EMS, Wind Gap Fire Company and Ambulance, Plainfield Twp Fire Company, Lehigh Valley Hospital MedEvac, and Northampton County Coroner’s Office demonstrated what texting and driving can cause and the pain and affect it can cause on you and others with a mock car crash. Students witnessed what takes place at the scene of an accident and the means necessary to rescue those involved and needed to provide them with the necessary care. Muddy Angels Ride locally for EMS Weeks

On evening of may 17th and the morning of may 18th the Lookout Fire Co. #1 was honored to lend a helping hand to a very special group of people. The week of may 15th is national EMS week, during this week 100 or so EMS personal from across the country set out from Boston, MA to Washington D.C. to pay honor to their fellow EMS personal who have died in the line of Duty and to raise awareness for EMS Personal with the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride. A Part of their trip this year included stopping locally. Suburban EMS Medic Howard Schwartz, who was coordinating the local effort asked for the use of support 3243 with transportation from their hotel to Pocono Medical Center for dinner on Tuesday Evening. Then on the Wednesday morning to transport from their hotel to the Suburban EMS Bangor Station for breakfast and to gear up for the days trek through the Lehigh Valley and to Ephrata, PA .. Support 3243 rose to the occasion and was gladly willing to help these Muddy Angels as they call themselves. The Lookout Out Fire Co. #1 was pleased to be apart and help these men and woman along on their trip and wishes them the best of luck the rest of the way.

Plainfield Twp Dwelling Fire

On Monday May 9th, as members were gather at our station for our weekly training. Fire station 36 had been requested by 36 police to assist them and ems units on scene of a ems call. 36 units and 3653 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a dwelling.  3653 assumed command and notified NCC to hit for a structure dispatch, which was for fire station 32 and 38, along with fire station 35 for a working dwelling fire in the 100 block of sanders road at 18:52.  Engines 3211, 3212 utility 3241 and 3242 along with all of our fire line officers went en route within seconds of being dispatched. Chief 3251 (D. Parsons) arrived on scene and confirmed with 36 command and had the crews from 3211 to stretch two hand lines. With a crew from 36 already inside working crews from 32 proceeded to take one hand line to check for extensions along with another hand line to backing up and assist the crew from fire 36. While additional members from 3212 and 41 quick assisted in many ways .Crews were able to quickly locate and extinguish fire and ventilate the residence. A great job was done by all for a quick and successful knock down of the fire. Fire station 32 units were cleared from the scene by 36 command and returned to station at 20:03 hours.

Company Has Annual Banquet

On the evening of Saturday April 9th, the members and guest of the Lookout Fire Company #1 traveled to the short distance to  Stroudsmoore County Inn in Stroud Twp for our  Annual Banquet.The night was filled with outstanding food, drinks fellowship and fun as we recognized the past year and the accomplishments of our members, as long with  some memorable funny moments as well. This year we recognized five members for the 10th year of service to the company those members are : Kevin Hower, Matthew Kolb, Kelly Kelchner, Micheal Marsh and Jodi Snoddy. In addition the James G. Dietrich firefighter of the year was named and award. This years recipient was firefighter/EMT Michael Marsh.Mike is a 3rd generation firefighter and joined our  company in 2001. During his time he has served as vice president,  and relief Secretary. He has also been on the turnout gear committee,  which he came up with our current color scheme for our gear, uniform committee and in charge of our firefighters challenge during our labor day celebration. He is currently employed by suburban EMS as an EMT , Currently he is enrolled and is studying to become a paramedic at the GEM Emergency Medical Institute. We are proud to have mike as a member, firefighter, and further more a friend to many in the company as he is well deserving of this honor Congratulations Mike and Good Luck with the rest of Medic School! At this time the members would like to thank once again Mike Cascario and his costumers of Cascario's Beverage for the wonderful donation to the company again
